Craving a cozy, boozy pick-me-up on a cold winter day (looking outside as I write); or if you’re in the mood for something warm, comforting, and just a little bit indulgent, this Irish Coffee recipe is about to become your new best friend! A perfect blend of rich coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, and a touch of maple syrup to sweeten the deal—it’s like a cozy hug in a mug. Top it off with a fluffy swirl of whipped cream and your favorite festive toppings, and you’ve got a drink that’s perfect for sipping on chilly evenings or adding a little extra cheer to your day. Let’s dive into how to make this deliciously boozy treat!

How to Make These Frozen Grapes of Goodness:

Start by pouring a shot of your favorite Irish whiskey (we’re fans of Jameson) into a heat-resistant glass or mug. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of maple syrup, adjusting to your sweetness preference—this helps balance out the bold whiskey flavor. Brew a fresh pot of your favorite coffee, and pour about a quarter cup into the whiskey-syrup mix, stirring to combine. Then, fill the mug about three-quarters of the way with more coffee, giving it another stir to blend everything together, leaving room for a generous dollop of whipped cream on top. If you’re feeling extra, sprinkle on some fun toppings like cinnamon or chocolate shavings. Now, kick back, relax, and enjoy your delicious creation responsibly!

Ingredients

  • 1 Mug 1 Fresh Brewed Coffee

  • 1 Shot 1 (1.5oz) Irish Whiskey

  • 2 tsp 2 Maple Syrup

  • Whipped Cream

  • Optional Toppings (sprinkles, cinnamon, etc…)

Equipment

Directions

  • Pour a shot of your favorite Irish whiskey (we used Jameson) into heat resistant glass or mug.
  • Pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of maple syrup into that glass. More or less is fine, this is to your taste; but the sweetness of the syrup helps balance out the strength of the whiskey.
  • Brew your favorite coffee.
  • Pour about a quarter cup of the coffee into the mix and stir. Follow this with enough coffee to fill your mug about 3/4 of the way full and stir, leaving enough room for the whipped topping (if desired).
  • Your drink now ready, top with whipped cream and any additional toppings you like.
  • Enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • Easily make this a desert with decaf or consider making it an iced coffee instead!
  • Stuck at work? Skip the whiskey for a safe for work treat. Work from home? Well…
